Gemstone Jewelry

Our Jewelry Artists

Earth’s Gemstone Jewelry is a collaboration between two friends, both accomplished jewelry artists, each with their own distinct jewelry style. Guy Randall and Karen Ramon have always been interested in rocks and apart from each other have turned that interest into jewelry design. It was just natural that they would combine their talents to bring you a selection of unique handmade jewelry. No piece is exactly alike, each one is fashioned to bring out the beauty of the gemstone. Let Karen and Guy share their passion for gemstones with you.

I developed my passion for the wonders of gemstones at the Grand Canyon. I unintentionally obtained employment at a rock shop on the edge of the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Needless to say the Canyon is a geological wonder in and of itself. At the rock shop I spent hours studying the world of minerals and their wonders. Subsequently, I realized that these awesome elements were made into beads and I could create my own beauty with them. I obtain my gemstones from distributors from around the world such as Lapis from Afghanistan and Carnelian from Indonesia.

I hope that my designs inspire the joy and wonder in you as they did in me as I was creating them.

I think I’ve always been interested in rocks; my earliest memories consist of going into the Rocky Mountains with my parents and picking up rocks to bring home and play with. In high school I took a jewelry class in shop and learned lapidary, silver smithing and lost wax casting. That became a life-long interest of mine. I’ve spent many countless hours exploring the old ghost towns and mines of the west; scouring hillsides and lost canyons of Arizona and Colorado in search of beautiful rocks I can turn into jewelry.

There’s something special about finding a beautiful rock and bringing it home to cut with my rock saw in hopes to unlock the wonderful beauty inside. It’s an adventure of discovery, and when that special stone comes along, to be able to turn it into a beautiful piece of wearable art makes it all the better.
